Case Histories

“THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!” ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE.

THANKS TO COMMUNITY LOVE IN ACTION, THE FOLLOWING FAMILIES HAVE

SAFE AFFORDABLE DECENT HOMES.

This shack was the former residence of a hard working struggling family of seven in our

community. Their present Habitat for Humanity home is the result of a great community

spirit of putting neighborly love into action.

Families put hundreds of hour of sweat equity into the building of their new

homes while working diligently along side community and visiting volunteers.

A new home was constructed for a wonderful family of eight children

and their remarkable mother; all of which were living in a deplorable

housing situation which threatened their health. Their courageous mom,

is a cancer survivor.

A second project was for a family of four who were living in a mold infested

house trailer with caving ceilings and buckled floors. Although the parents of

the two children were hard working, the fruit of their labor did not allow them

to escape their housing situation that threatened their children's well being.

Five of these precious little ones and their parents previously lived in a

deplorable shack that had the foundation collapsing, the windows were

covered with layers of shredded polyvinyl to keep out some of the cold,

and the hot water heater did not work.

Four children from a another family were homeless and slept on

grandma’s living room floor while mom and dad had to sleep in a small

camper trailer in the yard.

A family with five children and their parents were extremely overcrowded living

in a very small mobile home inadequate for a family of seven.
